Objectives: The mission of County Longford VEC is to seek to enhance the lives of all people in our community through quality educational programmes for second level and adult learners in a spirit that is respectful of diversity, equality, individuality, justice and personal endeavour. Our vision is of a future where students of all ages enjoy learning and use it to understand, cope with and shape their changing and complex world.

Services: Adult education, computer training, company training, adult literacy, youthreach, VTOS, sports advisory subcommittee. Supports to cultural and sporting activities.
Community Education, i.e. we pay Tuition fees of teacher for a particular project, e.g. Drama Group.
Special initiatives for disadvantaged adults (SIDAS), e.g. unemployed people can apply for a course and have it funded.

Special Services: Adult literacy, education for refugees and asylum seekers, Youthreach VTOS (targeted at the longterm unemployed). Adult Guidance Service.

Training: General adult education night classes.
Computer training from beginner to advanced.
Provide opportunities for certification on Youthreach, VTOS and PLCs. The youth reach programme links to NCVA level one, i.e. Junior Cert equivalent, then on to level 2, i.e. Leaving Cert equivalent.
